On August 16, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended additional doses of mRNA vaccines for COVID-19 for moderately to severely immunocompromised people.
This includes people with:
• Active treatment for cancer
• An organ transplant
• Advanced or untreated HIV infection
• A stem-cell transplant within 2 years
• Moderate to severe immunodeficiency
• Active treatment with corticosteroids or any other drugs that suppress the immune system
Today the Plumas County Public Health Agency announced new CDC recommendations on extra Covid-19 doses for people with weakened immune systems. Booster shots for other populations are not recommended at this time. More information about Covid-19 vaccinations is available at https://www.plumascounty.us/2761/COVID-19—Vaccine
