Telemedicine
The Lake Almanor Clinic offers services through the use of Telemedicine. Telemedicine allows the clinic to expand its scope of practices to offer services via video conferencing with specialized physicians allowing the patient the convenience of not having to travel outside of the community.

Seneca Hospital SWING Program:
A Swing Bed Program is a Medicare‑approved service that allows hospitals to transition (“swing”) patients from acute care to short-term recovery using skilled nursing care, before they are ready to return home. It also supports short‑term recovery for patients who no longer require acute hospitalization but are not yet ready to return home.
SHD’s Swing Bed Program provides:
- 24/7 nursing care
- Physical therapy services
- Individualized rehabilitation plans designed for progress and safety
- Care in a familiar, local environment
- A focus on restoring independence following surgery, illness, or injury
Almanor Physical Therapy:
Operated by Steven Brown, DPT since July 1999, is an outpatient orthopedic practice located on the Seneca Healthcare District Campus. Dr. Brown has developed a complimentary preoperative educational program for patients preparing for knee joint replacement surgery. This service, available at no cost to patients referred by their physician, includes consultations, detailed home exercise instructions, and recommendations for home equipment to optimize rehabilitation.
