Dr. Daniel Cooper is no longer be working with Seneca Healthcare District as a primary care provider.

Our recruitment efforts are of utmost priority, knowing that a physician’s practice in a rural setting is the cornerstone of health and wellness for a community. The search for new providers has been challenging due to overall provider shortages in the healthcare industry. The past two years of the pandemic have added to that factor through burnout and early retirements.

Nonetheless, we are committed to this effort and believe we will be able to bring new and additional providers to Seneca soon. In the meantime, we understand your need for medical care continues and recommend the following option:
The Lake Almanor Walk-in Clinic is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and closed from 12:00-1:00 pm for lunch. The provider at the Walk-in Clinic can see to your medical needs in the interim as we work diligently to recruit new providers and/or fill our vacancy with permanent and/or temporary (Locum) physicians. To contact the Almanor Walk-in Clinic, please call 530-258-2826.

Seneca is on a positive journey to providing high-quality and evidence-based health care. Seneca is honored to continue to be a part of your health care team but understands the disruption created by this change.

We will continue to update the public on our efforts and status of finding additional providers, as well as any changes to the facility that are important for the community to know.
Respectfully,

Shawn McKenzie, CEO
Seneca Healthcare District
