FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 15, 2025
(Chester, CA) – Plumas County recently launched its ROCE (Recharge Our Community’s Economy) Workshop Series with a successful kickoff event on September 3rd. The gathering brought together local leaders, business owners, and residents from the Lake Almanor Basin and surrounding areas, all committed to shaping a vibrant, resilient local economy.
This first workshop marked a strong beginning in a series of hands-on, community-led sessions designed to craft a long-term economic development plan tailored to the unique strengths and needs of the Lake Almanor Basin. Funded by a county grant, the ROCE initiative follows a proven model for identifying local assets, mapping demand, and connecting the dots between talent, businesses, and real opportunities.

WHEN: October 1, 2025
WHERE: Almanor Recreation Center

Strong Community Support and Recognition
Special thanks go to Susan Bryner, President of The Almanor Foundation, whose behind-the-scenes leadership made the first workshop a success. Her outreach and coordination helped ensure diverse community representation and meaningful dialogue.
The event was generously sponsored by The Almanor Foundation, Lake Almanor Area Chamber of Commerce, and Seneca Healthcare District, who provided refreshments and hospitality that created a welcoming environment for open, productive discussion.
Local stakeholders, including business owners and District Supervisor Tom McGowan, were in attendance—underscoring the importance of a collaborative, community-first approach to planning.
