Build Progress:
The fence surrounding the construction site was the first sign that construction was beginning for the new community hospital.
As of this month, groundwork to improve the site pad, grading for roads and installation of underground infrastructure (sewer, water, power, and internet) has officially started at the new build site bringing to fruition a combination of many hours of planning, research, employee/community input, and philanthropic efforts over the last several years.
Philanthropic Efforts:
Philanthropic efforts have been in full effect with the creation of the Seneca Healthcare Foundation and its operations.
Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) has been involved in the community with many new events surrounding the New Build. From coffee on the construction site to informational tables throughout the community, our involvement has been well received. Our team building event on Sept. 18th (pictured left) provided an opportunity for the planning team, design team, contractors, engineers, etc. to get to know each other and the people they’ll be working with over the entirety of the Build project. It was a success!
Next Steps:
The next steps for construction are to advance the site preparation as much as possible before our winter weather sets in. It will be a stretch, but we are hoping to be able to pour the concrete building foundation prior to winter work stop. Either way, the teams are making plans for an early spring continuation of the project. 2025 will be the year you will see the external outline of the new hospital as structural steel, roofing and enclosure/siding will be completed so that the crews can work inside the facility throughout winter 2025/2026 and through completion.
