(Chester, CA) — Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) is pleased to announce the promotion of Cameron Miller, RN, to Director of Nursing, succeeding Tessa Parsons, who is leaving the organization as her family relocates.  

Parsons, who has served Seneca Healthcare District with dedication and compassion, expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Lake Almanor Basin community.  

“Leaving Seneca is a bittersweet decision for me and my family,” said Parsons. “I have truly loved my time here and have been honored to work alongside such an incredible team while serving this community. Seneca Healthcare District holds a special place in my heart, and while I am excited for our family’s next chapter, I will deeply miss the people, patients, and colleagues who have made this experience so meaningful.” 

As the organization prepares for this leadership transition, Seneca Healthcare District is confident that Miller’s extensive clinical background and leadership experience will ensure continued excellence in nursing services and patient care. 

“Cameron has consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership, sound clinical judgment, and a genuine commitment to our patients and staff,” said Judy Cline, Chief Nursing Officer of SHD. “We are grateful to Tessa for her years of dedicated service and leadership, and we are excited to welcome Cameron into this role as we continue advancing our mission of providing high-quality healthcare close to home.” 

Miller is a registered nurse with extensive experience in emergency medicine, trauma care, critical care, and healthcare operations. Most recently, he served as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse and part-time Charge Nurse at Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville, where he exceeded expectations in annual performance reviews, led employee training and orientation efforts, and helped increase compliance through quality audits and process improvements. 

His nursing career includes experience at several high-acuity healthcare facilities, including PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, a 90-bed Level II Trauma Center in Vancouver, Washington, and PeaceHealth St. John Medical Center, a 50-bed Level III Trauma Center in Longview, Washington. Throughout these roles, Miller has cared for a wide range of medical, surgical, trauma, stroke, psychiatric, and critically ill patients while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency. 

He maintains numerous advanced certifications, including: 

  • Mobile Intensive Care Nurse (MICN) 
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) 
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) 
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) 
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) 
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) 

In addition to his clinical expertise, Miller has demonstrated a strong commitment to staff development, policy implementation, compliance improvement, and community service. His volunteer efforts have included supporting local residents through Seneca Hospital community events, Habitat for Humanity, and Feeding the Hungry programs. 

“I am honored to step into the Director of Nursing role and serve the community that means so much to me,” said Miller. “I look forward to building on the strong foundation established by Tessa and working alongside our dedicated healthcare team to continue delivering exceptional care to our patients and community.”
