(CHESTER, CA) August 20th, 2025 — As part of our innovative Career Exploration Initiative, Seneca Healthcare District recently gave students from Chester High School the opportunity to experience the world of healthcare from the inside out — and one talented student is now about to hear her own voice on the radio.

During the program’s Administration rotation, students explored the role of Marketing in healthcare and were challenged to write a radio advertisement promoting Seneca Healthcare District, which includes the Lake Almanor Clinic and Seneca Hospital. After reviewing all submissions, one winning script stood out — written by Aryanna Boatright, Chester High School student with a strong voice and creative spark.

This week, Aryanna visited KJDX Radio Station in Susanville, CA to professionally record her ad. She was guided through the process by Ruth, a station team member who generously volunteered her time and expertise. Ruth worked side-by-side with the student, offering insight into voice recording, editing, and splicing techniques.

“This was such an exciting experience — she got to see how a radio ad is actually made,” said Chelssa Outland, Director of Marketing and Communications at Seneca Healthcare District. “We’re incredibly grateful to KJDX Radio and especially to Ruth for making this experience so memorable and meaningful for her.”

The ad is set to begin airing in September on 93.3 KJDX, giving the student’s message a wide reach throughout the community. Listen in to hear Aryanna’s creative project!

The Career Exploration Initiative is part of Seneca Healthcare District’s broader mission to invest in local youth and strengthen the future healthcare workforce by sparking interest early. Chester high school students rotate through key departments including Administration, Cardiopulmonary, Clinic, Dietary, Health Information Management, Information Technology, Laboratory, Nursing, and Radiology. Each rotation provides students with hands-on activities, mentorship from department leaders, and real-world insight into healthcare careers. Students leave the program with a broader perspective, new skills, and a clearer understanding of the many pathways available to them — both clinical and non-clinical — within the healthcare industry. This year’s radio ad challenge was just one example of how the program empowers students to learn in creative and interactive ways.
