FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 19, 2025

(Chester, CA) — On Wednesday, October 1, 2025, Seneca Healthcare District will actively participate in a Full-Scale Active Shooter Exercise, beginning at Chester Jr/Sr High School and continuing through Seneca Hospital. This coordinated event, held in collaboration with multiple emergency response and public safety agencies, will serve as a critical training opportunity for Seneca staff, focusing on emergency preparedness, trauma response, and interagency coordination.

The exercise is designed to simulate a real-world active shooter scenario, allowing healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and emergency responders to test and refine their response protocols. Seneca Healthcare District will deploy medical personnel and support teams to engage in hands-on training, reinforcing its commitment to community safety and healthcare readiness.

“Preparedness is not just about having a plan—it’s about practicing that plan with our partners,” said Judy Cline, Chief Nursing Officer at Seneca Healthcare District. “This exercise allows our team to train in a realistic environment and strengthen our coordination with other emergency responders. It’s an invaluable opportunity to ensure we’re ready to respond swiftly and effectively in a crisis.”

Linda McCurdy, Director of Plant Operations and Safety – Emergency Management, and Judy Cline, Chief Nursing Officer, have been instrumental in coordinating Seneca’s involvement in the exercise.
