(Chester, CA) — The Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) Board of Directors has officially appointed Brady Haynes, the District’s current Chief Operating Officer (COO), as the successor to Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shawn McKenzie. Haynes will assume the role of CEO upon McKenzie’s departure at the end of this year, marking an important step in the District’s commitment to strong leadership continuity and the ongoing delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
This decision follows a deliberate and comprehensive succession planning process designed to ensure organizational stability, sustain operational excellence, and advance the District’s long-term strategic priorities in service of its patients, staff, and community.
“Brady Haynes has demonstrated exceptional leadership, operational expertise, and a deep commitment to our mission,” said Jerri Nielsen, Chair of the Seneca Healthcare District Board. “With more than 35 years of healthcare experience, combined with his genuine care for our patients and community, he is the ideal choice to lead Seneca Healthcare District into its next chapter.”
Haynes has served as Chief Operating Officer, where he has played an integral role in overseeing day-to-day operations, strengthening patient care services, and advancing key initiatives, including facility improvements and long-term planning efforts. With over 35 years in the healthcare field, he brings extensive experience and insight to the role. He is widely respected for his people-first leadership approach and his strong commitment to supporting both patients and the dedicated staff who serve them. His collaborative style and growing connection to the community have earned him the trust and confidence of colleagues, providers, and residents alike.
