Dear Plumas County Partners,

Extreme weather is fueling more frequent, destructive, and costly wildfires in California. In response, the state passed Assembly Bill 1054 (2019), creating the Wildfire Fund to provide available resources to help utilities pay claims to wildfire victims and communities when fires are alleged to be caused by utility equipment. However, the recent Southern California wildfires and the threat of future wildfires have raised concerns about the Fund’s sufficiency.

We hope you will join us in urging the legislature to update and replenish the Fund so that additional resources are available for victim compensation and community rebuilding in the future and burdensome costs and rates are not passed to consumers.

To join the coalition and have your organization listed on the website, please reply to this email that you agree to join and register herehttps://sustainablewildfirefund.com/.
