Construction on new community hospital

Build Progress:

Construction crews have made significant progress on the site’s groundwork. Workers have excavated trenches for the underground infrastructure, including sewer, water, power, and internet lines. The construction is scheduled to continue through 2026, with the new hospital set to open in 2027.

Large trucks and equipment will be present on-site, generating some noise from excavators and other machinery. Additionally, there will be increased traffic as more soil is brought to the site. To minimize dust, the project team is spraying water on the ground.

Philanthropic Efforts:

Seneca Healthcare District (SHD) created Information Stations; tables at designated locations within the community for the public to visit. Follow our Facebook page to stay up to date on upcoming dates!

Seneca also hosted Chester Jr/Sr High School students (pictured right) interested in healthcare and construction to tour the New Build site. These students were the very first of the public to walk through the Build site!

The Foundation also launched the very first merchandise line! This will be an annual line released with new designs every year. Proceeds go directly to support the Seneca Healthcare Foundation efforts. Start your collection by scanning below!

Next Steps:

The next steps for construction involve advancing site preparation as much as possible before winter weather arrives. We aim to have everything ready for pouring concrete in the spring. The construction team will continue groundwork as long as the weather allows.

In 2025, you will see the external outline of the new hospital take shape, with structural steel, roofing, and enclosure/siding completed. This will enable crews to work inside the facility throughout the winter of 2025/2026 and until the project’s completion. During the winter season, the New Build Team will also address details such as signage, furnishings, and equipment for the new hospital.
