construction crew

Build Progress:

The construction crews have completed the undergrounding and passed inspections. They have been busy preparing the site for winter weather. Due to expected weather conditions, much of the physical work will pause for the next couple of months. Once the crew can resume, they will focus on footing and foundation work. In the spring, we will start to see the rise of the steel structure of the building. During the winter months, the new build team, including contractors, architects, and representatives from Seneca, will continue working on the hospital’s details, such as interior finish selections and signage. The Seneca Board also approved the name of the new hospital, which will be Lake Almanor Community Hospital.

Philanthropic Efforts:

The Seneca Healthcare Foundation has officially received its 501(c)(3) status and is now accepting donations! The Foundation was established to raise funds for the new Lake Almanor Community Hospital and support Seneca Healthcare District as a whole. Through the Foundation, people can directly support the Seneca Healthcare District in ensuring high-quality healthcare is available to everyone, right in the heart of town. Although the hospital is under construction, your support is more crucial than ever. Rising inflation and the Buy America Build America (BABA) initiative have increased the total project cost by approximately 11%, raising the “owner contribution” to nearly 10 million dollars. Your contribution is essential to supporting this project.

Next Steps:

There are several things to look out for in the coming months. The Foundation has launched the Year-End Campaign to increase awareness and encourage giving this season. Regarding the new build, the Foundation is collaborating with the new build team to develop several events for next year, including a Buy a Beam event, a Beam Raising Ceremony, and several “See Your Money at Work” events. These events, such as town halls, site tours, and videos, will allow the community to see the results of their tax dollars.
