(Chester, CA) — Chester High School students had a special opportunity on Monday, September 29th, thanks to Career Technical Education (CTE) instructor Camille McNeil. Camille generously purchased and dedicated a structural beam—actually a column—as part of Seneca Healthcare District’s Buy a Beam campaign, which allows community members to directly support the construction of the new hospital through tax-deductible donations.

Students toured the new build site and participated in a meaningful tradition by signing the beam, which will become a permanent part of the hospital’s structure. Each beam donation includes a guided tour of the site led by Seneca Healthcare District leadership, offering donors a behind-the-scenes look at the progress and vision for the future of local healthcare.

“Introducing students to this project connects them directly to the future of healthcare in their own community,” said Chelssa Outland, Executive Director of Seneca Healthcare Foundation. “It plants the seed for the next generation of healthcare leaders.”

Seneca Healthcare District’s Buy a Beam initiative is part of its larger effort to involve local residents in the hospital’s transformation. The new facility represents a major step forward in expanding access to modern, high-quality medical care in the region, and community involvement has been a cornerstone of the project from the start.

Thank you, Camille, for your generous support and for investing in our local youth. Your dedication to hands-on learning and community involvement is helping build a stronger future—both in education and healthcare.
