Build Progress:
The construction crews have completed the undergrounding and passed inspections. Construction is temporarily paused due to planned weather conditions. This pause is necessary to ensure the safety of our workers and the quality of the construction. We anticipate resuming construction in the spring as soon as the weather permits.
During this period, our construction team will continue to work diligently behind the scenes. They will focus on finalizing the details required for the build, including signage, lighting, furniture, equipment, interior finishes, and more. This preparatory work is crucial to ensure a smooth and efficient transition into the new hospital once it is completed.
Philanthropic Efforts:
We are excited to announce several upcoming events hosted by the Seneca Healthcare Foundation in support of the new Lake Almanor Community Hospital.
1. Buy a Beam Event
In the spring of 2025, we will hold a special “Buy a Beam” event. This unique opportunity allows donors to contribute funds and have their name or the name of a loved one inscribed on a beam that will become a permanent part of the hospital’s core structure. Although these beams will be covered up, they will forever be a foundational part of our new facility.
2. See Your Money at Work Events
We will also host “See Your Money at Work” events throughout the year. These events invite taxpayers and donors to visit the hospital and witness the progress firsthand. The scheduled dates for these events are:
- Early June 2025
- Early August 2025
- Early October 2025
We look forward to your participation and support in these exciting events. Your contributions are vital to the success of our new hospital, and we are grateful for your continued generosity.
Next Steps:
- Foundation and Footings: Once construction resumes, the initial focus will be on the footings and foundation work.
- Building Frame: Following the completion of the foundation, the construction team will begin erecting the frame of the building. This will give shape to the hospital and provide a clear visual of the project’s progress.
- History Wall: The New Build Team is also exploring ideas for a history wall within the hospital.
We encourage community members to share their historical insights and stories to make this project a true reflection of our shared heritage. Your participation is invaluable in creating a hospital that not only serves our health needs but also honors our community’s legacy.
