Chester, CA – A major milestone has been reached in the construction of the new Lake Almanor Community Hospital as steel began rising on-site this past Tuesday morning. This exciting phase marks the beginning of vertical construction and brings the project one step closer to serving the healthcare needs of our community.
The first steel beams were installed in the area designated for the Acute Care Department, located on the northwest side of the hospital site. This department will play a critical role in delivering urgent and essential medical services once the facility is complete.
“This is a proud moment for our entire team and the community we serve,” said Shawn McKenzie, CEO. “Seeing the steel go up is more than just construction progress—it’s a visible sign of the future of healthcare taking shape right here in Chester. We’re grateful for the community’s support and excited to continue moving forward.”
Community members are encouraged to stop by and witness the progress firsthand—from a safe distance outside the construction fence. The sight of steel rising is a powerful symbol of the future of healthcare taking shape right here in Chester.
The Seneca Healthcare Foundation is actively raising funds to support the construction of the new hospital. Community contributions play a vital role in making this vision a reality. To learn more or to make a donation, please visit www.senecahealthcarefoundation.org/donate.
